The Low Light Carbine class closed out the May 2008 Michigan Defensive Firearms Institute (MDFI) visit to Tucson, starting at dusk on day two at the Pima Pistol Club.

- Alternate systems: knowing how to work an AK if you usually shoot an AR, and how to use a handheld light if you usually run a mounted one.
- Light holds: students tried several ways of holding a light with a long gun to find what worked best for them.
- The full night shoot: no lights, weapon-mounted lights, handheld light with a long gun, and strong-hand-only and support-hand-only shooting in the dark.
