Inside-the-Waistband Holsters for Glock Pistols

Inside-the-waistband (IWB) holsters are the most common choice for concealed carry. In this entry in the Gun Websites What Holster to Buy series, a left-handed shooter compares three IWB holsters for the Glock family.

Blade-Tech IWB with pull-the-dot snaps

  • The snaps go around the belt without removing it and fit 1.25 to 1.75-inch belts. They pivot slightly, so the cant can be adjusted for sitting.
  • Two tension screws set how tightly the holster holds the pistol.
  • The open bottom accepts several Glock sizes. Mid-size models sit flush; full-size and long-slide models stick out the bottom; subcompacts sit a little short but still lock in.
  • A body-side panel keeps the slide off your skin, the sights out of your side and sweat off the pistol.
  • An open sight channel lets the sights clear on the draw. The reviewer carried a long-slide Glock 35 in it without printing.

Blade-Tech tuckable IWB

  • A longer attachment holds the holster away from the belt so a shirt can be tucked in between, for slacks and a dress shirt.
  • All that shows is a small section of black over the belt.
  • The closed bottom limits it to mid-size Glocks such as the 19, 23 and 32.

Raven Concealment molded Kydex

  • Over-the-belt loops with a small J-hook under the belt keep it in position, with some adjustment for cant and ride height.
  • Molded to fit a Glock with a weapon light, and slightly wider to break up the pistol’s outline.
  • Works inside or outside the waistband. The reviewer carried a Glock 35 with a light in it comfortably for weeks at a time.

What to look for

  • Belt width compatibility and adjustable cant and ride height.
  • A body shield to protect you and the pistol.
  • Open vs. closed bottom, depending on how many pistols you want it to fit.
  • Room for a weapon light if you carry one.
